Comfortable bed, compact but clean & functional room layout. Sam was an extremely helpful host, directing us to unrestricted local parking 6 minutes' walk away. Breakfast runs like clockwork - very well organised. Sam was also helpful in suggesting local points of interest, and assisted us in finding another night's accommodation at a neighbouring property when he was unable to extend our stay.

Stayed here with family and friends for ironman Weymouth, Mel and Trish couldn't do enough for us. helped carry bags up stairs, told us the best places to eat, helped us with parking, stored my bike overnight for me. As I was up early for race and would miss breakfast they did a packed lunch for me to have after race.
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
Fantastic little pub and rooms….. Sunday roast was lovely! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Upon arrival there was a live band playing in the garden which was great, very entertaining and family friendly. Our family room was very clean and comfortable - had everything we needed. Breakfast is in the farm cafe (ducks) just up the road - food was amazing - we all had a fantastic breakfast before heading off to Cornwall. I would highly recommend this pub/hotel.
The rooms was to a good standard very clean, the beds were really comfortable.
There is a lovely garden to relax and has a place outside where you can grab a pizza.
The price we paid was very good especially with the breakfast and there was 4 of us 3 adults and 1 child.
Very enjoyable stay
The hotel is in a beautiful location, not far from Weymouth (15 minute drive).
Our room was clean and welcoming, beds comfortable.
Breakfast was nice. Husband enjoyed the full English, myself and the children had granola, pancakes and porridge. All topped with honey and fresh fruits.
Check in and out was simple.
This was a wonderful find. We booked a family room, it was spacious with a double and 2 singles. The room had a small but modern bathroom with lovely lighting. The beer garden and restaraunt were great especially on a sunny afternoon. The breakfast provided from a nearby farm house was fabulous. I would highly recommend staying here.
The room was immaculate I don’t think I have ever stayed anywhere that was so clean. The size of the room was good and had good facilities. Slept like a baby. Loved the breakfast next door at the farm cafe it was delicious
We stayed in the Jurassic Room - for a family room, it was reasonably large, comfortable and felt quite newly decorated. Better than accommodation at most pubs. Breakfast at the Cafe (2 minute walk away) was very good.
Portesham itself is an attractive location and it suited us very well: a straightfoward 15-20-minute drive to Weymouth and 5 minutes from Abbotsbury.
