The staff at the hotel were great, so friendly and helpful.
I think his name was James on the check in, he showed us the anvil coach house which we really appreciated.
The grounds of the hotel are really nice loved the little pathways around the side of the property.

The cabins were absolutely beautiful. Couldn't fault them or the hosts . Wonderful stay
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
We really liked the warm and friendly welcome and, the spotless and newly refurbished rooms. It was good to be able to park beside the hotel.
Breakfast was superb and well beyond the normal B&B offering. It is also very accurately described by the owner, so there were no surprises.
Everything , what a great place to come and stay , The Family room i stayed in was massive with a great en suite and a great powerful shower which blows the cobwebs away. Proper Scottish Breakfast in the morning was superb even had haggis on the plate and the host was very accommodating , cheerful , and welcoming. i do like that you got the use of a microwave so evening meals wasn't a problem would recommend anyone to stay , Great find..
Really well run establishment, nothing too much trouble.Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.Slept very well after a long journey, bed and bedding were very comfortable.Overall a very nice stay and will certainly stay again, and will recommend to family and friends.
Nice owner, excellent food, very very friendly environment. We felt like at home, nice place to stay. I reccomend this place to everyone, especially to those with family. This place is dog friendly too. Nice and comfortable rooms and easy parking.
Large family room - perfect for parents, teenager and terrier. Cosy, clean and comfortable - just what we needed. Little fridge in the room if staying longer. Alison was the perfect owner and provided us with a delicious evening meal. Breakfast was super. Little Bie, the border terrier (and co-host) welcomed our dog and soon became firm friends. See? Something for everyone in the party! Lovely and quiet area just off the main roads. Brilliant stopover or base if you are going to explore the area. Off road parking too.
The Village Inn is easily accessed from the main route when travelling between Scotland and England, though one is not disturbed by any traffic noise. The room in which I stayed was spacious, warm and comfortable and had amenities usually associated which much more expensive establishments. Sadly the time of year and prevailing weather prevented my using the garden seats and benches but I'd imagine this would be a very attractive feature for families with children.
We used the village Inn as a stop off as we travel to Ayrshire from barnsley regular but now have two young children so didn't want to keep stopping at service stations so the village was idea.Alison is a lovely owner and does a real great job saying she runs the place by herself ,rooms was clean the food was really good .I would return here again with my family as was really made to feel welcome. It was more like a home from home .we are very satisfied with our visit
