The wardens were amazing, and the site was clean and peaceful. Someone had messed up, though, as the site should have been closed for the winter, and we shouldn't have been able to book it. But the guys looking after the site still took us in and made sure we had everything that we needed and were comfy.
We had the place to ourselves and it was wonderful.

Lovely Scandinavian pine cabin. Very comfortable all round. Very well equipped kitchen with lots of extras with quality appliances and lots of food items including fresh milk and bread, cereals porridge chocolate crisps etc. Comfortable bed, charming sitting room, garden. Welcoming hosts, excellent all round.
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
It was idyllic. The festival theme is great fun. The cabin had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. We spent a few days relaxing before heading to Glastonbury festival.
We have spent our best New Years Eve here at The Retreat with our kids and dog. Amazing view, cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Matt and Charlie are amazing hosts. We love our privacy, and they respected this so much. If we needed anything, they were always available and actioned our requests promptly. We also ordered the BBQ package, which is out of season now,however, Charlie went out of her way and put some amazing feast together for us. 1000% (no mistyping here 😊) recommend this place.
So peaceful, clean, everything we could ever need. The family are so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We are already booked to go back next year as we had such a great stay. Even our little dog was welcomed into the family home.
