it was sparkling clean, well stocked and so comfortable. The hosts were so sweet! they even invited us to see when the cows were fed on their farm. It was overall one of the best experiences we have had on a stay away.

The lodge was beautiful and the views were stunning, regardless of the weather. Everyone knew where the lodges were so when we asked the bus driver or taxi driver to take us there, they knew where to stop. The lodge had everything we needed, was pristine and very comfortable. Definitely recommend.

Thorvald is a cottage that has been tastefully and thoughtfully renovated with all the facilities you could need, as well as a great outdoor space to relax in. While there is a local shop nearby, it is only a 10 minute drive to Kirkwall, Orkney's capital. On arrival, it was to lovely to see some local produce left by Rhona and Dwayne to welcome us as well as a folder full of useful information about the area!
