MacLean Guest House, hotel in Fort William

MacLean Guest House offers room-only accommodation located on the main road and is less than 5 minutes' walk from the town centre and train and bus stations.

Location was brilliant for our needs, very close to the train station. Brandy welcomed us when we arrived, and she was really friendly and helpful. The tips for our sightseeing day were appreciated, though in fact we had time to walk under the Glenfinnan Viaduct and up the other side, to have the best view of the Jacobite crossing it. We took Brandy's recommendation to take the coastal route (B8008) to Mallaig, though, and that was a really good tip. The room was a decent size and comfortable if a little warm, but opening windows a bit and/or using the fan provided sorted that. There's a good smart TV with buttons for Amazon Prime and Netflix as well. Tghe bathroom is a good size, with a powerful shower and good towels.

The stay was PERFECT! the house was clean ( I mean, absolutely spotless!!). It was more than well furnished, with toys for the kids, baby chair, even a washing machine and a dry machine! The view from the balcony is amazing and the small centre over there is beautiful. We can also recommend the Ben Nevis distillery, just 200 m from the cottage. We are stunned and we hope we can come back one day. I already recommended the cottage to all my friends 😉

Great older mansion, we had the superior family room (1 double bed, 2 single beds) overlooking the front of the building and loch. The room was tastefully decorated, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Great, simple stay for one night. Good size for a small family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Recommend this for a short stay. Was very quiet but this was helped with no one else staying there. Great little touches with porridge and muesli bars.

Friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms, value for money, food in cafe/lounge was very good. Games room, for the most part,. Entertainment, though sometimes a bit risky. Kids club very much enjoyed by youngest guest. Great location right across from tram stop. Ideal for a short family break.

We did not have a breakfast option. Unfortunately we got in late and only spent one night in the room. The room was quite small but it was still ideal for our family of four. The kids had their own room with a bunk bed. The other room had a queen sized bed with a TV and small table with chairs for sitting and eating. No living or dining room area. The bathroom was small but functional. While it was small it was still a good home to accommodate our family.
