We were really wanting a hotel; having said that, the welcome from our host was exemplary, and the breakfast was excellent. Car-parking also good.

Met on the drive by the owner who was very friendly and helpful
Room was beautiful and well maintained. A lot of thought had obviously gone into the finer details (items in the fridge very nicely presented)
The bed was large and one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, high quality products used.
The bathroom was huge and had a large freestanding bath. Essential items available.
We received a follow up call once we had left to make sure we had enjoyed our stay
Altogether very pleasant and made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend and may very well return ourselves

Nice one bed house with a decent view, good comfy beds, nice kitchen.
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
Location was great. The "Nith River" being so close is a plus. We were visiting with family so for us, the area was agreeable. Plus, it is close to downtown shops &services & the walking parks for children & adults
More places should have this kind of family suite. The space was perfect for us and meant we could have the children in separate rooms. The chairs in the living room were comfortable and the big hit was the jacuzzi style bath. The buffet breakfast was fine and the staff at breakfast and check-out were polite and helpful. Being able to park at the Caledonian Hotel was a plus. Having a fridge was very helpful. Beds were comfortable enough.
The cabin was clean, modern, functional, spacious and the kids loved it. The view was amazing and the hosts were brilliant whenever we had any questions or queries. We will 100% be returning. There is a few things around the local area to do so you can also keep yourself busy.
There was a wide range of additional touches that made this stay very enjoyable. Numerous games and toys for the grandchildren to use in the large garden and the games room, lots of very useful information on the area and local attractions, a washing machine (a Godsend with small children), lots of space in the house, two fully equipped bathrooms. Very clean and tidy and a real home from home feeling as soon as we walked through the door. The location is very quiet on a private road but only minutes from the centre of Dumfries.
Very nice place to stay, it was very clean and spacious for a group of family . And it was affordable and parking is great too! I will definitely come back and will recommend this place to our friends.
The cottage is lovely. The interior works well with a kitchen area and worktops adjacent to the sitting area. The enclosed rear garden is a bonus which would be real useful to a family with kids. The cottage has a view of the sea. Car parking is immediately in front of the cottage. The Steamboat Inn is a few steps away and the food is delicious. Well worth a visit or two as we did.
Family room was lovely. Close to reception but felt tucked out the way. All staff we met were really friendly and great with the kids. Struggled to book online for the family room as option wasn’t given but hotel was quick at responding to emails and updating booking to include children.
Scenic landscape. Great Hotel with a lovely park, a good restaurant / bar and comfy rooms. The woods next to it are great for hiking and the farm park nearby is fun for kids of all age.
Comfortable stay, friendly staff, breakfast was a short walk for cooked at sister hotel, or continental available at Stewart hall. Close to town centre. Car parking available. Family Room was spacious and perfect for us with 2 small children. Definitely will stay again!
