These islands are unique in the world and are made up of 200 kilometres of moorlands, mountains, machair, sweeping sandy beaches and the rolling Atlantic ocean. All on Europe’s oldest rock, Lewisian Gniess.

I don’t think I’ve ever received a warmer welcome. Only booked for one night when I decided to travel a day early but could easily have stayed longer. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the owner, who greeted me as I arrived. There was even a gift for my dog in the room. The room was lovely, looking out to the small loch. Food was home cooked and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
