The Mash Tun, hotel in Craigellachie

Situated in Aberlour, 33 km from Huntly Castle, The Mash Tun features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

Beside the river in Aberlour city centre and close to everything. Rooms were big with comfortable beds, nice amenities and a bath tub - and they were named after speyside whisky distilleries. Parking was easy as they allocate lots for guests. Breakfast was delicious. We had a great night doing whisky flights in the bar - their stock list is immaculate!

Inveravon Holiday Home, hotel in Craigellachie

Boasting a hot tub, Inveravon Holiday Home is set in Dufftown. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi.

I was impressed with how well equipped the house was - even sky tv! Furthermore, there was loads of cutlery, crockery etc - it is so annoying when you stay in a holiday home and there is the bare minimum resulting in having to handwash the cups every time you had a cup of tea. Even the small minutae such as big bags, washing up liquid etc - they were all there for our use. Inveravon was tremendous in that respect. The use of the hot tub was an absolute thrill and highlight of the holiday. I would also like to add that the hosts were very accommodating - whilst we were supposed to leave by 10am, they contacted us to say that this was not a problem and to just leave when we were ready. All these little things made such a big and positive difference.

Abbeyfield B&B, hotel in Craigellachie

Situated in Dufftown, in a historic building, 22 km from Huntly Castle, Abbeyfield B&B is a guest house with a garden and shared lounge.

This is more than B&B! The elegant house has been beautifully renovated to provide a luxurious stay for guests. Our bedroom was lovely; huge comfortable bed, two armchairs and a great walk-in shower. Kira was keen that we made ourselves at home. There is a lovely garden to relax in (and make a BBQ if you wish) a very comfortable living room and a dining room where you can chill your own drinks and accommodate eating a takeaway meal for dinner (cutlery and crockery provided). Breakfast choices are more like high-end hotel and prepared lovingly. We really appreciated a more relaxed breakfast time up to 9:30am who doesn’t like a little lie-in on holiday? This place was a great find and made the Speyside leg of our Scotland Grand Tour just that little bit more special. A memorable stay.

Small hotel that provides excellence size of room, high ceiling, large bathroom (we booked family room), adequate furnitures in the room. They have a small kitchen, which makes pretty good dinner and breakfast. I am a frequently traveler, and not staying small hotel or Airbnb room, I booked this room based on the pictures showed on the web, and price. I didn’t expect the facility was really nice, like a good hotel (not a motel!) room. Highly recommend.

A lovely family run lodge which was as welcoming as it was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lewis in the Kitchen prepared a delicious fresh breakfast that was a great start to the day.

A blazing log fire in reception was very welcoming a d the staff. dry friendly. Nice size room with clean and well equipped en-suite. Nice restaurant with well kept hand-pulled beer and good food. Live music on the Friday evening was very good. The Quaich bar was good fun, with many whiskies to choose from.
