The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel, hotel in Clovelly

The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoilt countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk.

We thoroughly enjoyed the historical references to The English Civil War incorporated into the Inn’s ambiance. Our room was elegantly appointed with a magnificent four-poster bed and a captivating fireplace. The bathroom featured a luxurious spa bath, providing an ideal respite for weary muscles. The breakfast offerings were generously served, and the attentive staff delivered exceptional service throughout our stay. The duck dish at dinner was particularly delectable, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. We highly recommend the Inn as a comprehensive and memorable experience.

Slerra Hill Bed and Breakfast, Clovelly, hotel in Clovelly

Set in Bideford in the Devon region, Slerra Hill Bed and Breakfast, Clovelly offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Our stay at Slerra Hill was great! The room was very spacious with two comfy chairs to relax in, and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was clean and a modern style. Even though the room is within the hosts home, we were able to come and go as we pleased. The breakfast in the morning was tasty, with options given. Becky our host was very friendly and chatty, which made us feel very welcome and at ease. There is a great gastro pub/restaurant 10 minutes away, by car, we ate there both nights of our stay and the food was delicious! It’s a great base for visiting Hartland and Clovelly.

Good value for money. Great location for day trips. This particular resort ( main hotel/reception area) is a bit dated but this did not affect our enjoyment as the kids loved the outdoor play area, the forest, pool and Battle Blasters. 20 minute drive to Westward Ho which is amazing. Great beach for walking , rock pooling and crabbing. Fun arcades for the kids and mini golf. Bonus…weather treated us well.

Perfect base for exploring. The South West Coastal path runs through the site, so the dog and I had a lovely run to Clovelly and the whole family had an enjoyable (but very steep!) walk to the beach. Lots to do in the surrounding area. We chose this accommodation because it is close the The Milky Way Adventure park, which our children love. The Chalet was clean and warm with plenty of cutlery and pans etc, great value for money. Right next to the park, pool and very close to the entertainment, but not noisy.
