The place was so clean, the staff were sooo friendly and made us feel welcome with our baby. The grounds are absolutely incredible and a MUST see. Our only regret is not staying longer to explore the grounds more.

Dating back to the 17th century, The Old Deanery - Restaurant With Rooms Hotel was built on the site of the monastery of St Wilfred. With free parking on site, the building is situated in the centre of charming Ripon, opposite the cathedral.

An absolute discovery-stunning. Beautiful building, lovely location, exquisite interiors with such style, charming staff and utterly sublime food. We will be coming back and could not recommend The Old Deanery more highly

With parts of the building dating back 700 years, this former coaching inn stands on the market square in the ancient city of Ripon, at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.

In the heart of Ripon, the Unicorn is just a 5-minute walk from this historic city's cathedral and close to all of the local shops and amenities. The stunning scenery and breathtaking natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales are within easy reach.

This hotel was the perfect place to stay in Ripon. It was right in the centre of town across from market square where you could see the Ripon Hornblower every evening at 9pm. The bus station was just around the corner. Check in was easy and we were given assistance to carry our luggage up the stairs . Our room was large and had a beautiful big modern bathroom. Breakfast was at an extra cost but was very affordable. The menu was extensive with many different options to choose from. We wanted to stay longer but unfortunately they were booked out. Would definitely stay here again.

It was a very well equipped home from home. The beds were really comfy, the living room was cosy, the kitchen had everything we were looking for and we were delighted to find an apple tree in the front garden with a table and chairs for breakfast outside. The scenery out the windows was picturesque and a fab little park was 5 minutes along the road. We even found a book swap inside an old phone box. It’s like a little house from a story, just perfect.

After my last few bookings being in functionally effective airport hotels, what a pleasure to experience a characterful hotel like Grantham Arms, in a pretty little historic town like Boroughbridge. Lovely welcoming staff throughout, quirkily humorous Yorkshire elements of décor in the bedrooms, homely little rooms for dining, beautifully presented plates at dinner and breakfast - a joy throughout!

The breakfast was perfect, nice selection with great friendly and professional staff. The dinner (food in general) was very nice and perfectly presented and as above great service. The children's menu was great value, for a 11+ year old. We loved everything about the downstairs of the hotel, it's beautiful. The pool and gym etc. was the main reason for our visit, due to the weather forecast, and we really enjoyed the leisure facility's.

The ambiance and colour decor made the inn most pleasing. The personal touch with the rubber duck in the bathroom and books in the bedroom was fun. Thoughtful to receive some locally sourced chocolates as a Xmas gift. Enjoyed looking at the Yorkshire homage to sports stars. Delicious breakfast.

Being a dog friendly hotel our large dog felt very at home. We stayed again in one of our favourite rooms which is clean, comfortable, very large and tastefully presented with nice little extras. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Had a large group family meal on Saturday lunchtime, the food and service were excellent. Thank you again and see you soon.
