Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Clematis Cottage, Fortrose offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. With garden views, this accommodation provides a patio. Outdoor seating is also available at the holiday home.

We loved the property, the facilities, the great water pressure in the shower, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The living room furniture was quite comfortable, and I recommend making a fire if weather permits. It makes it very cozy. The location was walkable to food, pub, bus, and two bakeries.

lovely location, just a 10 minutes walk from sea, 20 from the town and leisure park with coffee and lunch facilities. Liz is a lovely emphatic landlady with nice team around her. We enjoyed the best breakfast in our holiday and don’t forget to enjoy the toast with Liza’s home made marmalade; best in the world (whisky is the secret we know now😉)

The family owners were all very welcoming and the staff super helpful. The decor was not to our taste, but a lot of thought had been put into the facilities which we greatly appreciated (and is sadly lacking in many hotels!). From under floor heating, to proper dressing tables and bathrobes, and very well-appointed bathrooms, no expense had been spared. Breakfast was very good!

A lovely family hotel. The staff is both welcoming and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub just over the street, also owned by the same family. The food was a combination of hearty and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay in spite of a room with was a bit dark because situated on the ground floor.

We had a lovely two night stay and the staff were so friendly. Rooms were clean and functional. Although the restaurant was not open they happily accommodated us to buy and eat takeaways in the dining room, even heating up the plates for us. Found the staff most accomodating and easy going. Thanks

Gun Lodge was described as rustic. If you like older properties with “character” this may be for you. The sheets and bath seemed clean. We choose the GL as it was near Inverness and the price was decent. It was very quiet.

Nice home from home, spacious and quiet surroundings. Grateful that a high chair and travel cot was provided. Our toddler loves the sheep and cows. Host was excellent and easy to get hold of. Would easily stay there again.

The location right attached to the pub was super comfortable and fun to stay at. Ardersier is a small city great for discovering the area. The staff was nice and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and got even better as they were also able to provide us with a dairy free option. I highly recommend!

The hotel went over and above to cope with staff shortages caused by Brexit/covid. Lovely friendly family atmosphere, really made us feel welcome, and housed ourselves (husband and I) who were staying for a week in same private 'wing' as our adult children who were joining us with their partners for a few days. We got the biggest nicest bedroom! Many thanks to Sheena and her staff for their efforts throughout.
