The Chateau is a special place from the moment you arrive beautiful and well maintained grounds provide a wonderful setting. You are greeted by professional and friendly staff who make you feel truly at home in this 5 star luxury hotel.
The 5 course set menu was exceptional and the quality of food and presentation / service outstanding.
Absolutely fabulous experience and one to remember we will definitely return in the future.

We had such a great time staying at AnneMarie and Luc’s place. They were really warm and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are very comfortable and clean.

We had a great stay. Christian and Corinne are wonderful hosts. Every evening we had dinner and every time the meal was delicious, the cheeses and wines were superb. Christian and Corinne are very pleasant genuine people, they don't play an act and they give you the space you want.
The room we stayed in was nicely decorated, big en tidy. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were great.
At the gates of the Morvan, 2 km from Avallon on the road to Vézelay, the Hotel au Soleil d'Or opens its doors for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Situated in a small quiet village, very traditional in decor. Our room was very plain, yet more than comfortable. The restaurant was very good with a good choice of menus.

Nadine is very warm and welcoming. Our family room was actually to bedrooms in a suite, so the children had to sit own space. On the mezzanine landing Nadine has every board game you could imagine. Next door the bar/restaurant had a set menu and live music when we were there. .

Lovely grounds and building, quiet, with attentive staff. Excellent meals evening and morning. We had Hippolyte a lovely huge room with view. Car charging was also very useful.

This is a brilliant place to stay- character in abundance with lovely touches that makes it really special. You are really close to restaurants and services and I would highly recommend. I would have loved to have stayed for longer.
