The host who was a career chef was most accommodating and pleasant. The room rate was great value for two nights, we would have liked to stay for three nights. Breakfast was fantastic! Situated on large lot with heritage pedigree.

Florence and Dominique for such gracious and wonderful hosts. The property is charming and wonderfully located in a perfect position to explore the historic D Day monuments and beaches.
At Port-en-Bessin, situated between the D-day landing beaches and the town of Bayeux in the heart of historic Normandy, stands the charming 18th century Chateau La Chenevière.

The property was easy to find and provided very convenient off road parking right outside the door. The local area was very quiet and picturesque. The location was ideal for visiting not only the D Day sites but also the beautiful town of Bayeux and had good road links to the wider area including the city of Caen (which has a direct rail link to Paris). Overall it was an ideal base for anyone wanting to visit the D Day beaches, war memorials, picturesque rural hamlets and the wider area of Normandy.
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
Mickaël was there to greet us when we arrived and popped over with bread and a blackberry tart. The house was as described, comfortable and just what we needed after a long journey from London. The house is in an ideal location for exploring Normandy.
Loved the history of the Manor, the location, an easy walk into Bayeux, the delicious breakfast, and the marvelous hostess, Isolde. The house has been in her family since the 1750s, it felt perfect to be staying in such an historic home when exploring such an ancient region.
The house was amazing and great location. It has all the modern facilities. If was clean and tidy and made us feel at home. The kids didn’t want to leave. Great value for money.
beautiful location, short car trips to many interesting destinations. lots of space and a playground for little children. nice breakfast and conversation with the friendly hosts. we loved it!
Lovely building with lots of personal touches in the rooms and bathroom. They only rent out a room with 1 double bed and a room with 2 single beds with a small seating area in between the two rooms, so as a family of four you feel very special as the only guests. There was a wide choice of breakfast items and the strawberries and fresh mint that we were served on the first day were delicious. The proprietor was very helpful with restaurants and with advice about what to visit in the local area.
