As we discovered when we drove through the surrounding forests here was a rural hotel which provided a banqueting service to the local community just short of 1000m in the centre of France. When checking in the only other guest we met was the organiser of the local Quad Bike club. Soon all his chums arrived with their quad bikes on flat beds. This meant that the restaurant was full in the evening. The staff were highly organised and a delicious meal was served without delay to about thirty guests. The good thing about this experience is that good cooking and hospitality survives in rural France.
