Breakfast was delicious. Homemade bread, yoghurts and jams. Cheeses from local area. 3 course dinner was very good value, all homemade with dishes promoting the local area. Husband is coeliac, everything was gluten free and gluten free bread was available for him for breakfast and dinner.
The hosts were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The room was large as was the bed which was very comfortable.
We have travelled to France, once or twice nearly every year, for the past 35 years and this by far was our favourite hotel we have stayed in. We will certainly return.

Absolute little gem and so happy we found this! We needed an accommodation for a one night stay on our way from the Atlantic Coast back to the French Alps. The usual motels in the area were all very unappealing, so I was very happy to come across Aux Roses with its outstanding reviews. And - it did not disappoint!
We had already received some information by text message before our arrival which was very helpful (restaurant recommendations etc). Martine expected us upon arrival, handed us the key and showed us around the apartment. She's a lovely lady who really looks after her guests and makes them feel very welcome.
The apartment is very well set up and has everything you need from toaster to washing machine, TV, DVDs, books, games, beds already made, towels in the bathroom, ice cubes in the freezer (which is crucial when you've just bought a bottle of lukewarm rosé) and even a loaf of bread, some butter, honey, jam and milk in the fridge for breakfast (plus cereal and tea and coffee). I have to admit that we devoured most of the bread with the salted butter together with the bottle of rosé in the evening! ;-)
Beautiful surroundings, very quiet apart from the occasional moo-ing of a cow - so very peaceful!
There's a little garden just outside the front door (but away from the road - which isn't very busy anyways) with a picnic table and even a BBQ should you like to use one.
Unfortunately we had to leave early in the morning and we couldn't appreciate the surroundings of Aux Roses for too long.
Thank you Martine for a lovely stay! To anyone thinking about booking Aux Roses - do not hesitate, you won't be disappointed!
