I have never stayed in a property like Gite Les Vignettes before. On booking I was unaware that we had to provide our own bedding and towels. When I received an email reminding me to bring our own sheets and towels I immediately emailed the owner explaining the we were 4 pensioners with one dog on a six week tour of France and Spain. I asked for beds to be made up and towels to be provided. I was informed that the cost for each bed would be and additional €10. I stated that this was ok but once again requested that we needed towels.
On arrival there was no-one to meet us. I messaged the owner. I received no reply. After 40 minutes walking around the property my friend pushed a window and discovered it was open. We eventually managed to get my friend in through the window and discovered that the keys were on the inside of the main door. We then accessed the property.
The owner arrived about 30 minutes later. She spoke no English. The house was tired, dirty and we did not receive one towel therefore were unable to shower the next morning.
I have been using booking.com for many years. This its positively the worst property I have ever stayed in. It is disgusting!!! It may look impressive from the outside but avoid it like the plague!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. Totally overpriced and not fit for purpose!
