Malis Castera Le Petit Château, hotel in Frontenac

Featuring a garden and views of river, Malis Castera Le Petit Château is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Saint-Jean-de-Blaignac, 40 km from Stone Bridge.

I've travelled to many places in the world, and stayed in numerous top hotels, but I have to say this this is the BEST. If I could give it more than 10/10 I would. The reason? Super attentive and caring hosts, Olivier and Nathalie, who provide five star service and advice. That's only the start though. The individually designed rooms are immaculate, all with their own character. They are very spacious, and would rival any 5* hotel for aesthetic style and design taste. The breakfast is typically French and first class, with an individual surprise item each day my wife and I stayed. The final highlight is the Table d'hote evening meal, cooked by the hosts, all fresh and to top restaurant standard. We were planning to eat out during our stay, but there was absolutely no need. This was the place to eat - small, intimate and welcoming. For us, a perfect break. Very highly recommend - we will be back!

Domaine Jean-Got, proche de Saint Emilion, hotel in Frontenac

Offering an open-air bath and pool view, Domaine Jean-Got, proche de Saint Emilion is located in Lugaignac, 33 km from Chaban Delmas Bridge and 34 km from La Cite du Vin.

In a peaceful setting, simple accommodation but perfect for us. We were able to visit all the areas in the wine region easily from here, and also relax in our little house. Everything was clean and well kept, the pool area was lovely and whilst there were other people sharing this space it felt private too. Our dog came with us, he is well behaved, and there was no problems with this. The donkeys were a delight and we were surrounded by apple trees so lovely in September.

Coup 2 Foudres, hotel in Frontenac

Nestled in the heart of Bordeaux vineyards and 10 km from St Emilion village, Coup 2 Foudres is a B&B with 24-hour front desk and air conditioning.

Everything was perfect again! The location is so peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast of pastries each morning was so tasty. I love that the hosts also offer choices for a light dinner that will be delivered to your door and of course some wine from their vineyard. Juliette looked after us so well but all the family and staff are so friendly and helpful. They truly live up to the name of vineyard 'Bonhoste'

Le Domaine D Anaelys, hotel in Frontenac

Le Domaine D Anaelys is located in Ruch. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 50 km from Stone Bridge.

Authentic farmhouse excellently modernised surrounded by vineyards belonging to the excellent hosts. The main bedroom is quite large and the twin room ready for the family. The living room is large with some lovely old furniture. The kitchen has new fittings and the bathroom is newly refurbished with big walk in shower. The area is very quiet and rural in the middle of wine growing areas, half hour from the Dordogne River. It is interesting to visit St Emillion but equally good wines can be bought from local growers, and the host Yuanne produces wine from growing to bottling.

Beautiful quiet tranquil location among vineyards. The gite was lovely and tastefully decorated. A lovely garden to sit out during the evening. The hosts were lovely and friendly. We even purchased some of the hosts wine to bring back with us which was absolutely great and very good value.

Typically French but good. The hostess had made all the preserves. The place was a true bed and breakfast and the hosts are warm, lovely and engaging people. They took time to chat with us, and waved farewell as we set off on the next leg of our bike trip. It felt like we'd visited family.
