The breakfast was perfect! The evening meal cooked by Aga was delicious. Aga was charming and very accommodating. We would highly recommend staying in this accommodation. Laon Cathedral was a short ride away and the town had many shops and restaurants.

We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk.
