Everything was special. The place, a converted farmhouse with barn, the garden area with vegetables and fruits we could eat. The spacious house is a successful combination of preservation of the past and stylish modernisation. The green area is habitat to many different birds. Piece of paradise on earth. We stayed in the beautifully renovated family room. Bedroom with separate 'sitting area and bathroom'. We were the only guests that day. It was blissfully quiet. Very friendly run hotel/restaurant. Room was spacious with tea/coffee facilities. Both bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and well finished. We ate in the onsite restaurant excellent food at good prices. Service was excellent nothing rushed made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was good pre-ordered English or continental both of a good standard although on a personal note I would have liked some fresh fruit - it didn't spoil my day.

Very quirky 300 year old property with modern conveniences. The proprietor made us and our dog very welcome and evening meal was fabulous. Farm fresh home cooked. Family suite was ideal while travelling with my grandson. Single beds in adjoining room. Nice garden area too.

La Maison Porte Bonheur is a hidden gem in the middle of Chantelle. Our quirky room was immaculate and spacious and had everything we needed. The little touches like toys in our room for our children, separate towels for our room and the pool, the inflatables available and all the unusual interior decorations made this the most enjoyable and memorable stop on our journey to the south of France. Emmanuelle and Juan couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast they provided were delicious too and well worth having.
