Logis du paradis is an oasis of calm and comfort. It was the perfect place for us to spend a couple of days relaxing after a hectic weekend at a wedding nearby. Marie-Laure was amazing in recommending local places of interest and helping us book a river cruise in Cognac, and arrange a visit to a local distillery. We had dinner there one evening (book in advance as there's no restaurant), which was beautiful as was breakfast each day, served on the terrace. Great attention to detail and choiceof food. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious with lots of character, including a big, old fireplace. The bathroon was large with a great walk-in shower, and a bath. We also had the use of a shared, fully equipped kitchen. Gorgeous place. Highly recommended.

The house itself is an old orphanage turned into a guest house, with 3 rooms for a limited number of guests every night. That allows them to really cater to every one of them and dedicate considerable time explaining its history and chatting. The style of the mannor is classical (built around the 1800s but reformed in the 1900s), looks like what you could find in an Agatha Christie novel (but, alas, no murders happened during our stay), large, with older furniture and decoration that suits well its architecture (it even has a nice game room). It has a huge and beautiful garden fruits and herbal plants. The breakfast was fantastic: fresh coffee, confiture, marble cake, tiny croissants and pains au chocolat, croissant with almonds, break, and home-made jams (from fruits from their garden!), served in old china.
Set in Gondeville, Les fins bois offers accommodation with private pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. This 3-star apartment offers a garden.
