Our stay in Riverside home really made our Rovaniemi trip special! The house itself is beautiful and quintessentially ‘Finnish’ - with a generous open plan living area and kitchen, cosy bedrooms, a drying room for all the snow gear, a sauna and a lovely terrace and massive garden, leading down to the river. We have two young boys and staying in a house with a garden, where they could play around in the snow outside was absolutely fantastic, as the deep snow was such a special part of the trip. The house is very well situated, between the airport and the Santa Village and the city - nothing is more that 10-15 mins away in the car. There is a small supermarket within walking difference and more supermarkets within 5 mins drive. A lot of tour organisers will pick you up from the house when you book your day trips and excursions. Anne and Jorma as the hosts were superb! They facilitated an early bag drop for us, and at the end of our first day Jorma picked us up at the end of the day in the city and drove us back via the supermarket, which was so convenient. I would not hesitate going back to Riverside Home for another stay.

You might think the price is a bit high but I'll tell you why it is worth it. We stayed for 3 nights in this house with 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, sauna, private yard, parking. You get in the house and it feels just like home. Cozy, decorated with great taste, everything you can possible need. The host left instructions for everything like how to use the sauna, the fireplace, where to find wood and also a welcome basket. In the back there is the lake, a fire pit and a tent where you can keep warm while enjoying the view of the forest. You just need to stay there and you will understand why I loved it so much. 5 minutes by car to Rovaniemi, 4 minutes to Lidl, 8 minutes to Santa's village, 10 to Santa's cave
