Not much choice for breakfast. Location is center of town and walking distance to Lalibela churches. However it can be noisy so if one is looking for something quiet better to find another one. Evening sunset view from dining is beautiful.

The property is beautiful , clean , well located , the bed was so comfortable , they have hot shower and the view from the room is BREATHTAKING. The best view of my life ( and I’ve been to 57 countries so imagine ! ) Great value for your money … if it were anywhere else in the world that hotel could charge at least 10 times more ! All The staff were absolutely lovely and they all made my staying so much more easier and comfortable . I felt safe as a female solo traveler and would recommend big time !

The most important thing were for me the security. I felt so safe . 24hours security service. The room is super clean. Everything works. Electricity never been a problem. They have a backup Generator system, friendly staff. Tasty breakfast which is local and international food. The hotel is located to the famous rock hewn church of Lalibela and to the town centre. I was appointed a guide and he speaks very good English and has a good knowledge of the Church.

The owner, Teddy arranged the transfer from the airport to the guesthouse, with a local taxi, at the real price. His all family are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse (very clean, with a remarkable view to the mountains) is close to the monolithic monasteries and the restaurant Kana, where you can take the lunch or dinner. Teddy can arrange various tours with various guides at reasonable prices. It was the best option to choose Merkeza Guest House.

It is a family run hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It is spotlessly clean and in a perfect location with magnificent views. It is quiet and peaceful.
Great family atmosphere. The sisters Birtukan and Eden and their staff care for all you may need, including very delicious meals.
For any organization of guided tours just tell them and they will take care.
The family who run it were extremely kind & really looked out for us. Breakfast was great and we ate every night in the hotel after busy days at the churches - the soups & bread were great!
The staff were so careful and took care us like a family. Everything was clean. Also, the meals were really tasted and they tried to have everything ready for us when we would like. We ate breakfast and dinner. The rooms are big and with confortable beds. The location is perfect. Also they have a shop where you could get souvenirs or food. Go to Lalibela is safe and a unique experience.

We had a lovely time at Merkeza guest house. The room is nicely decorated and has a lovely view to the mountains. It’s in a good location, just 10min walking from the Lalibela’s churches. Most importantly, Teddy and his family are great hosts, they made us feel at home and they helped us organise our tours around the town. Plus, the breakfast is very good! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to visit Lalibela.
