Hosts are amazingly nice and sweet. Room was definitely bigger than stated on Booking - or the bathroom was not included, as it was very spacious.

This is a magical place, you feel like you're away from everything while you're only a 20 mins drive from the beach and 30 minutes drive from Bilbao centre. Friendly, warm owners, HUGE family room, organic garden, farm animals and delicious breakfast with homemade cake. We were sad to leave.

Historic building very well restored and maintained, staff were helpful, especially the bar lady who offered to prepare a light dinner even though the restaurant was closed on a Monday. There is free secure parking. The convent is centrally located a short walk from the main square where there are bars and restaurants. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room (which not many Spanish hotels seem to offer). Only 30 minutes from Bilbao, so easy access to ferry home.

This property is located in a lovely little town in N Spain. Thankfully our satnav took us right to the front door. There is a large secure car park behind the property which is accessed from inside the hotel by pressing an open/close gate device. Our room was very clean with a very nice bathroom and it was evident that quality materials had been used when the house was built/renovated. The property is very quiet at night and tables and chairs are provided at the rear should you wish to avail yourself of the splendid views. I think the barbeque at the side of the car park is a communal affair available for guest use. The little square just down from the hotel is probably very lively in the height of summer but on a Monday night in mid September only Txiki's bar was open. It was more than adequate. The wonderful beach is a 10 minute stroll from the hotel. When we arrived at Mugarri we had no instructions about how to gain access but thankfully a very friendly chap appeared and took us to the Mugarri Restaurant on the square to confirm our reservation and provide the keys and then walked back with us to show us our room for the night, No2. A vey nice place to stay and only 8 miles from the port. Our journey from Casa Mugarri to the port and check in onto the ferry next day took around 25 minutes.

The house is just beautiful and the hosts are very, very friendly. The breakfast was superb (absolutely no cheap and cost-saving), prepared and served in typical local style. Everyone of my family member was really happy with that stay.
