Location literally opposite the sea. If you can get. Sea view from your room even better. We couldn’t as it was full.
We had a side room which was fine.
Room is not big but enough for 2 for a few nights.
The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They speak a little English and they always try to help.
Breakfast is very good too lots of choice.
The only thing is that it lacks a terrace outside. That would be the cherry on the cake!
Ribadesella town is an about 10/15mn walk which is great. You can walk easily to restaurants and bars.

Biking trip - i booked 5 rooms. The hotel is very nice, I had a good sized superior room and everything was clean and well looked after. it is in a rural location ouside Ribasella, which is nolice if you want that. we had thought it was closer ro the town however (it nearly 2 km away). receptionist was helpful and apologetic (see below).

Excellent place to stay on Camino del Norte, we had the upstairs suite and it was beautiful, very comfortable. The owner is so lovely and accommodating- she even recognised us when we were out walking around the town.
Villalen Hotel can be found on the Asturian coast just 5 minutes from Ribadesella and 15 minutes from Llanes, on the Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage Route. There is free Wi-Fi and free onsite parking.

Villalen is a nice family-run small hotel with something like 6..8 rooms. Breakfast is somewhat minimalistic -croissants, coffee, butter, but inexpensive, need to pay separately, 5eur per person. The location was great, close to the beach and the famous Buffones de Pria.

The property is well located and is a 5 minute drive from Nueva where there are restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The closest beach is less than 10 minutes walk away.

The location is amazing and so peaceful. The place feels like a little family cabin in the woods and if you want to go to the centre of the city, its like 8min by car. Elena was most helpful and kind, always happy to help. She prepared breakfast every morning and gave us many tips on what to see and where to go. The room was spotless everyday and smelled nice. We were a family of 4, and we booked 2 twin/double rooms, was still not expensive at all. This is a lovely oldfashioned hotel with full of antiques that that has everything I needed.
Best location, best view of the town Ribadesella!! The hotel owner Sultan was super helpful, she knows everything about this area. I would recommend this place for anyone who likes genuine Spanish experience!
Loved it. I prefer a characterful 3 star to a bland corporate 4 or 5 star anytime. Lovely family hotel run by nice people. Freshly made omelette for breakfast, delicious.
We arrived very late and left next morning so spent very little time at this hotel, which is a shame as wonderful location.
Booked cheapest room, didn’t have a balcony, which we knew but although it was in the eaves it was spacious, was obviously a family room as had 4 beds!

Beautiful, comfortable and nicely decorated house in a quiet location yet close to the town (Ribadesella) and the sea. Helpful and friendly staff. We came with little kids and had all the necessary for them. Bank bed really comfortable and easy to open/close. Everything very clean. Nice swimming pool.
