O Sisto

I couldn’t have been more delighted with this property! The couple, Diego and Xing, firstly, were just the most lovely hosts - hardworking, attentive, good senses of humor, extremely hospitable and warm and friendly. The tapas dinner table that they prepared for all of the pilgrims that evening was delicious (a mix of Spanish and Asian food!) and generous. We spent a memorable evening with our fellow travelers and the food and welcome and energy of the couple set the scene for this. It felt really like staying with good friends who do all they can to ensure you’re well taken care of and have all you need to be rest and relax. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom had a basket of bandages, after-sun, wipes, everything you could want after walking all day long. This wasn’t in my sister’s room, but surely available upon request. The breakfast, like the dinner, was prepared with care and generosity, complete with homemade cakes and bread. We were perfectly satisfied when setting out for the last stretch of the Camino! Our stay here again served the saying, “the Camino provides.” Muchas gracias to Diego and Xing!

Great rural location with a much bigger swimming pool and more garden furniture than we expected. Very helpful owners who explained all we needed to know when we arrived late due to flight delay. They also phoned to check everything was okay early in our stay. The pool table, children's toys and bicycles were an unexpected bonus. Facilities in general were good and we had a great holiday.

The house is a beautiful old stone building set in rolling green countryside. Carlos and Tania were very friendly and so helpful. The breakfast was made from local foods - cheeses, bread, hams, marmalades, fruit and lots more. It was lovely and relaxing to sit in the garden and listen to the birdsong.

I was completely surprised by this rather special out of the way place . The receptionist was so welcoming and allowed me to change my room to one with more sunlight ( I ‘d arrived early after a long Camino walk) so that could enjoy resting in the warmth . She then brought me generous refreshments in the garden . Breakfast was very good. This is a simple but very hospitable place- just a few rooms, but perfect for the last night before walking into Santiago de Compostela.The big hotels could learn a lot from these little places about hospitality . It sounds a bit ominous going down to the restaurant next to a petrol station for dinner but this worked well- and I loved walking in orchard on the farm where this gem of a hotel is located. Switzerland
On a bus route, so easy to get in and out of town. The owner told us the bus times (20 to the hour) and it was about 15 mins in and out of Santiago. The house is I was told by guests, on the pilgrims way and for us that meant a great mix of other guests for mealtimes and great exchanges. I loved that I could swim when I wanted. The water was coldish but then I take a cold shower in the Alps every day. I know my colleague found it colder than I did. But once in, the water (cleaned through salivation) was terrific.
Brion (Near O Sisto)

The host Vanessa was delightful! The house belongs in a magazine: it is well designed and fun to hang out in. The bedrooms with on-suite were comfortable, the kitchen was super functional and cute! The whole house was super clean and the view of the backyard was just spectacular. Located at 25 min from the Camino, it was the perfect stop to relax after a long day of walking. It was such a great house that we brought food to the house to enjoy it rather than go out to dine!
