Hotel Tugasa Castillo de Castellar, hotel in Castellar de la Frontera

Boasting a privileged hillside setting in a Medieval walled enclosure, this rural property is set around an ancient fortress in the Andalusian countryside.

If you get a chance, definitely stay at this hotel. Highly recommended. Absolutely stunning to sleep in a castle. To look out over the mountains from your private terrace on top of a castle tower. And everything was perfect. Spacious, very comfortable room, good bed, very good breakfast with good coffee. And an excellent dinner in the nearby restaurant El Aljibe. Great place to be when visiting surrounding places such as Gibraltar or Ronda. Just a great place to be.

Boat Haus - Mediterranean Experience (Alcaidesa), hotel in Castellar de la Frontera

Located 650 metres from Playa Llanito, Boat Haus - Mediterranean Experience (Alcaidesa) offers a restaurant, a bar and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi.

We took a slightly larger barge - it was really great! Information on how to get to the marina and ultimately to the right house boat was clear and legible. The manager responded immediately to every question by email and was really helpful. On site on one of the boats there was a small restaurant, available from early morning until 11pm. They even took an order for a pizza at 11pm and delivered it 20 minutes later. The view from the terrace of the barge was brilliant, straight onto the Rock of Gibraltar. The House Boat was small but equipped with everything you need, including a jug of drinking water (although tap water is also drinkable). There was also a bicycle available on the barge at a price!

Hotel Mim Sotogrande Club Maritimo, hotel in Castellar de la Frontera

A beautiful hotel situated by the Sotogrande Marina overlooking Gibraltar, Morocco and the Mediterranean Sea, alongside some of the best golf courses in Europe.

Location, easy drive in and out, area is beautiful. We had an upgrade from the hotel for a very nice room with views of harbour. We were really thankful and loved it. Breakfast is excellent, love the avocado and the bacon is fried properly which is often not the case in Spanish hotels

We, a family of 4 (parents with 13 and 10 year old boys), lucked into rooms 101 and 102 - wonderful! Each room was spacious and felt authentically in an ancient structure. The boys loved staying in a castle; we loved staying in rooms with such views. Additionally, the restaurant on the castle grounds was wonderful! Ended up eating there both nights (thank you to the Castle receptionist/concierge) and was so glad; each meal was wonderful and seemed authentic to the area.
