Atienza

Excellent place. We travel a lot and this place is one of the best visited by us in Spain. Very good value for money. I recommend to take the elegant and tasty breakfast.

The location was superb. The hotel has been renovated from an old convent. The old chapel has been incorporated into the hotel. The breakfast was amazing value for money. 5€ for tortilla, ham, cheese, and tostadas, with fresh orange juice and coffee. Also, jam and butter if you wanted something sweet to eat. There was also a big bowl of fruit for all to eat at any time. The staff was brilliant. We had just finished walking 320km over 12 days of section 1 of the Camino Del Cid and were sore and tired. The hotel manager welcomed us with humour and a big smile. When it was time to leave, our bus to Madrid was a 3km walk away. The manager drove us to the bus stop with all our hiking gear. We didn't need to ask because it was freely offered. What a wonderful thing for her to do. We will be back for another stay when we start section 2 of the Camino. Thank you for the efforts you made for us. We appreciated it very much.

The Antiguo Palacio De Atienza is a 17th-century mansion in the historic town of Atienza. It has a swimming pool, restaurant, gardens and free Wi-Fi.
The rooms combine old and new features, with wooden floors and stone walls. All have modern bathrooms with hydromassage showers, flat-screen TVs and underfloor heating.
