This family-run hotel was built as a mansion. It still has many original features. There is also a cosy lounge with books, a TV and a fireplace. You can also play pool.

Great hotel with old historic tower incorporated into the hotel building. We had a tower wall in the room. Great idea. The hotel has its own parking 100 meters away. The hotel bar and restaurant, both were great.
Montanejos (Near Arañuel)
The hotel spa circuit includes a hot tub, sensation showers, a Finnish sauna, Turkish baths and other facilities. Children are allowed in the spa at certain times. Hiking is popular in the surrounding countryside with mountains and pine trees.

We booked a spontaneous trip to Montanejos and picked Hotel Xauen because of the location, the price and the fact it has a spa. We loved the friendly staff, the secure garage and that we could pay just 10€ more to check out late. Our room was good - we had a terraza with room to sunbath and look out over the river valley. We pre-booked our time in the spa - there was only us and one other couple in so it felt like we had it to ourselves. The highlight of Montanejos is the beautiful river. We got up at 6.30am to swim at Fuente de los Baños by ourselves - magical!

The hotel is only 90 metres from the Montanejos Spa. The Fuente de Baños Thermal Spring and its source is just 900 metres away.

Half board with breakfast was good value. Pool and sauna facilities enjoyable. Nice river walks close by and friendly cafes in the village.
