As the name says, this is a former monastery, located next to a 900+ years church. The place is beautiful and charming and the whole area is incredibly peaceful. We only stayed one night, but our entire family loved it. The area around is very beautiful, forested hills, but it is also quite close to A Coruna if you are driving, so it makes a very good base for Northern Galicia. Staff was super nice and attentive and breakfast was simply delicious (and quite plentiful). We left feeling we would have liked to linger more.

Beautiful building and furnishings surrounded by a quiet setting. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. We were able to store our bicycles inside the common room for the night. A great relief for bicycle tourers. Although they have kitchen facilities, we chose to eat dinner at their restaurant. The menu changes nightly. Our meal was delicious and we were glad we ate there instead of cooking ourselves.
