The apartment at Casa Branka is small but very well-equipped. When I booked the apartment, I thought there were two bedrooms, but there is only one with the possibility of four beds. We solved the problem by having our daughter sleep in the kitchen (there's enough space) while my husband and I stayed in the bedroom. The apartment has a large covered terrace with a table, a hammock, and deck chairs, so we spent most of our time on the terrace. Additionally, there is a beautiful view of the black sand beach and the sea from the terrace. We were welcomed by the host's friend, who was extremely kind; he offered us transportation to the shopping area and told us about some lovely hidden spots in San Antao, which greatly contributed to the comfort of our stay.

Sympathetic, small-scale family hotel with simple but attractive rooms. No unnecessary fuss, but everything you need is there (and works). Lovely private balcony/terrace overlooking the lush green courtyard, an oasis of peace in the middle of the rustic village of Paúl do Mar. Some good little restaurants within walking distance. A delicious breakfast is served on the roof terrace, with beautiful views of the surroundings and the ocean.
Special mention deserves Marco and his mother who made our stay extra unforgettable through their friendliness and helpfulness. It was a real pleasure to stay here.
Offering a restaurant, Casa Cavoquinho is located in Paul Valley, in Cabo de Ribeira. Free Wi-Fi access is available. Rooms here will provide you with a balcony and a terrace.

This place is more like a whole experience, and not just a place to stay. To reach it is around an hour mountainous walk after the road ends. They send someone to help you finding the place and help carry your bags. Mine were carried on the head of the person helping me, for one hour! I felt bad for bringing too much. A bag pack is highly recommended. You will be the only tourist in a very small town of around 10 houses. Lovely views and very quiet, except for when they play loud music in town, but mostly it is nice and peaceful. The people are super friendly and welcoming. If you do not speak Portuguese bring an offline translation app. I made some nice hikes to Lomo Branco and Ribeira Grande, all around 1.5 hour each way. It is quite basic, but just think about how difficult it is to reach the place and build a living there! These people deserve nothing but respect. How they build their lives and live independently and largely self-sustainable is amazing. Great opportunity to see another side of Cape Verde and help local communities. Anita is an amazing host and Arlinda can answer questions concerning the reservation and travels. Thank you both for your help and patience.

Excellent stay, good bed. Shared bathroom was clean. Gilda her daughter helped us a lot with collectivos and taxis. The breakfast and diner were very good as well! I recommend this place!

Great place to stay for a couple of nights
Superb location with great views
Food is very good and diversified
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
It's quite a new place run by a very friendly and helpful family in a residential area of Porto Novo. Breakfast and dinner you can get in the restaurant on the ground floor, also prepared by the family. If you struggle to find the place ask the local people and show them a picture of the building. The location is a bit more up the road than marked in booking map. From the ferry pier you can walk (around 20 minutes) or take a taxi.
Beyond the lovely spacious, clean, room that has everything you need for a very affordable price, to say that the hosts were helpful and lovely would be an understatement. I got very ill from a previous place and they took such good care of me, getting me medications, making tea, checking in on me all the time. They made me feel safe and cared for like family. Would highly recommend staying here :)
The place is wonderful and the host was incredibly helpful and nice, very understanding when we had to cut our stay short as our baby got sick. We couldn't recommend this place more! It also has a superb swimming pool.
My stay at Yria Residencial was almost like staying with a good friend of the family. I cannot find any reason not to return to enjoy the hospitality extended to me again. At very short notice the host arranged a fabulous whole day tour of the island of Santo Antao for me. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of choice including home baking. I look forward to my next visit.
The staff at Casa De France is awesome!! Everyone was so kind and always trying to help even with language barriers as we don't speak french or portuguese. Our kids had a lot of fun with the kids of the owners which made our stay just perfect!
The room was huge and all the houses look so nice. The complex is just beautiful
The family running the business is really welcoming and helpful (and smiling).
The room is huge, clean and spacious.
There was a complementary bottle of water and a couple of cans of beer.
It is literally a 2 mins walk to the beach which, on Sundays, is full of life
Most of all I love the people working here. So so nice and humble. I really want to book again because of them. The room was very clean and the interior was fun. This is probably the best value for money you can get in Porto Novo. Recommend 10/10!!
