We took a day trip from San Jose to visit hot springs and various points of interest, and then got too tired to drive home - and found this gem on Booking. This hotel is an AWESOME find — so quiet and peaceful, with ice-cold AC and a cute pool and great included breakfast. The room itself we stayed in was very basic but comfortable, and SPOTLESS. The property provided cold drinking water, glasses, and a fridge on a balcony overlooking a beautiful forest view. It is about 30 minutes from the main tourist strip in La Fortuna but that’s actually a great thing, since it is removed from the backpacker scene but close enough if you have a car. Any outdoor activities are within a similar drive. I never eat hotel breakfast but they put out a hot, very delicious típico type hot breakfast with Costa Rican dishes (gallo pinto, natilla, plantains, tortillas, fruits, fresh watermelon juice!!!) as well as some American-type items like toast, cereal, and milk. couldn’t believe it was free/included with the LOW hotel price - I paid around US $65 for a basic double room on Booking. The staff were super friendly as well! All around a gem. We live in San Jose part of the year and like to enjoy all this area offers, so I will definitely be back to this hotel in the very near future.
