Orika del Mar Hotel Boutique, hotel in Isla Grande

Orika del Mar Hotel Boutique features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Isla Grande. The accommodation provides karaoke and room service.

We had an unforgettable night at this hotel. It’s a simple standard, but the view and the warmth of the hosts are priceless. There are only a few rooms, and everything feels very private and personal. A great contrast to the tourist crowds in Cartagena and other cities. The sunset was the most beautiful we’ve ever seen in Colombia. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for an authentic experience.

The location is obviously a bit like a paradise so that’s a huge plus but I can’t really find much else to say about it.

My daughter and I had a perfect 3 day stay in IslaBela in November. The place is paradise. Beautiful beach, gorgeous sea, wonderful food. The staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming. Special mention for Wendi, Marcella, Oscar, Andrea and Wilbur for making our stay so lovely. The snorkeling trip with Daniel was fantastic. X

El Hamaquero Hostal EcoNativo, hotel in Isla Grande

Featuring a beachfront location, free WiFi and a terrace, El Hamaquero Hostal EcoNativo offers pet-friendly accommodation in Isla Grande, 36 km from Cartagena de Indias.

Everyone who worked there was really friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing and unfortunately for us the weather was a bit too windy so it was too dangerous to swim off the deck but on a calm day that would great. I loved how it was actually an 'eco-friendly' accomodation where the furniture was made from recycled materials, the rainwater was harvested and cleaned for showers, and they even were involved in restoring the reefs and mangroves on the island.

The place is quiet and relaxed, although the roosters are very loud during the night and early morning. Breakfast is served in front of the hut which is nice. Also loved the hammock in front of the hut, good for relaxing!

I had a wonderful time at Las Flores. Maria y José are wonderful people. I did 3 Tours with José, snorkeling, Mangroves and Plankton. I ate several times diner and everyday breakfast. I really love the lentils from Maria. It was always great. She always asked what I liked and cooked vegetarian meals for me. Oh and the sweet little Flóra, who always laughs and talks. Muchas gracias por todos Maria y José

Isla Tijereto, hotel in Isla Grande

Facing the beachfront, Isla Tijereto offers 3-star accommodation in Isla Grande and features a garden, private beach area and terrace.

The staff was simply amazing; extremely welcoming, warm, friendly and fun! The also have a dive center at the premises, which made it very comfortable to organize some dives during our stay there; the diving team was equally helpful and friendly. The accommodation (as described) is very rustic and spartan. But if you are fine with that, then I would recommend this place and the island in general for a typical Colombian Caribbean experience :)

Beautiful family run place, with great private huts and delicious home cooked food and a bar. Everyone was really nice and helpful, with advice about the island and booking tours for snorkelling and in the mangrove. The tours were really unlike some of the mass tours you see on the island, just you and the guide in a small boat or canoe. Everything from accommodation, food and tours was really responsibly priced

Weren’t really sure what to expect but we were impressed with the accommodation, we were upgraded to a nice bungalow, it was very clean and new. We were given mosquito nets when we asked. The family were really lovely and patient with our limited Spanish. We loved the snorkelling tour with Jose and his grandson!

The hotel grounds are lovely and the family and caretakers were always ready to help us with any needs. The food was good, and the parrot was a fun companion! We decided to stay 2 extra nights and were upgraded into a lovely room (Casa Grande) with hammocks on the terrace. The location is a short walk from several beaches (Playita, Playa LIbre, Playa Tranquila), but be prepared for a hot and dusty walk home.

Friendly, fun and helpful staff, family friendly and relaxed vibe. You can snorkel right off the front of the hotel in the most gorgeous blue water. The food was great and reasonably priced. We stayed for almost a week and have already been recommending it to our friends! Thank you!!

The place is owned by a lovely family, everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The cabins are neat and clean. This spot is very close to the beach and is more quiet and tranquil compared to staying at the beach, during peak hours. Its a great spot for people traveling with kids.
