It’s a family concept with the parents taking care of the guests and son organising the bookings (he is also the only one speaking good English). They do all the best to serve you with snacks and food. The meal prepared was extremely tasting and delicious.
The room is simple but has all the essentials. The bed is a bit hard but we liked it and the area is extremely quiet facing the river.
The common area is their living room but in this big round table you can chat and meet people. It’s a nice experience.
They drive you around and wait for you if needed.
It is located 2 hours by car from Beijing but they managed to pick you up even if a slightly more pricey then Didi but they know where you can buy tickets for the Great Wall with no queue.
The trip is worthy, the Great Wall in this area is amazing and with few people. There is also the option to go up for a night walk.

The property was clean and had good facilities like a lounge room for guests, and a bar. The host was so nice, she makes all the delicious dinners with fresh local produce (it’s all vegetarian). There was also lots of internationals staying here, so it was easy to share tips for the hike.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The owner was really helpful - we missed the train in Beijing, so she helped us with an alternative route. When we arrived, we had dinner with vegetables from their own garden, and the next morning after breakfast she had prepared a lunch package to take on our hike to the wall. The location is really convenient, just a 10 min walk to one of the entrances near Gubeikou. You can choose to walk only there (already great) or pass to the Jinshanling area as well. The rooms where comfortable as well. Would definitely recommend!
