Great location - so close to the train station. The room was really comfortable and the bed was great. Breakfast option was very good too.

The location was excellent, right in the old town but quiet. We had a little trouble finding the street but a nice local who spoke English showed us. The entry instructions were easy, there is no lift so carrying heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs maybe tough for some people. Overall the property is excellent and well managed

Fantastic apartment that saved us from a disaster A wonderful apartment run by very friendly and helpful agency - Solution-Grischun - and thank goodness we were able to book this at short notice because the day before our arrival into Chur we had just found out that the new owner of the accommodation we had booked -Bergpension Battagliahütte in Malix near Chur -would not honour our confirmed booking made 8 months earlier blaming the previous owner Thankfully we found this wonderful apartment right in centre of Chur altstadt within walking distance of the train station, all the sights and plenty of restaurants and shops. There was even a Saturday morning food market on the street outside with delicious local produce ( finishes about 1130). It is in an historic building yet modern and very spacious inside, super clean, large comfortable bed and quiet. We paid an extra 20 CHF for a later check out at 1200 and enjoyed a leisurely start to the day and a stroll down to Chur main station for our Glacier Express trip to Zermatt at 1426. The only downside for some would be that there is no lift and 4 flights of stairs with another flight from the lounge to the bedroom, the apartment is right in the top of the building. This is definitely not for those who can’t do stairs or have heavy luggage but it was just perfect for us. Top tip- if you arrive well before you can check in, stash your luggage at the station and hop on a train to Arosa, the one hour journey was fabulous and as good as parts of the Glacier Express and included in an interrail pass. There are self service luggage lockers on Chur station platform, different sizes for very reasonable prices - we used a medium one for 2 large wheelie holdalls.

Hotel was very good. Breakfast was also very good. The management not so good. We could not get out of our room as the key did not work for us. We tried many times. I rang reception. Was met with a very sharp response. "Yes she is coming" So we waited and tried the key again. We waited some more, tried the key again. I rang again, met with also a quick, sharp response. :Yes she is coming". We waited again, tried the key again. Maybe half an hour. By this time getting hungry, concerned and wanting to start our holiday outside of our room. After about 40 minutes we were starting to feel anxious. I rang again. This call was met with polite surprise. Soon after the Manager came storming into our room opening the door and rudely proceeded to show us how "easy" the key was to use then she quickly left. We do know how to work a key and both of us tried many, many times during that 40 minutes!! We were made to feel like it was our fault with barely an apology. We felt chastised and belittled for our key not working. We were both a little in shock. I understand there was confusion. But I do not understand the rudeness of the manager in response to our situation!!!! In contrast some of the other staff were nice. Stay there, maybe just make sure you dont have any mishaps that might involve the manager!
