The building itself is historically fascinating, and it has been intelligently restored to preserve its charming, ancient décor and features, and simultaneously to ensure that it provides top-notch modern conveniences and cleanliness. On successive visits, year after year, one can see that these high standards are rigorously maintained. The establishment is run with impressive efficiency, thoughtfulness and professional expertise by a formidably energetic manageress. The rooms are impeccably "done" every day by the hotel's maids, who obviously take pride in their work. An excellent breakfast is provided. Finally, the hotel's superb position in the heart of old Eglisau, directly overlooking the Rhine, gives its guests immediate access to the lovely, grassy beach along the river, which is a haven of serenity. Swimming safely in the surprisingly warm water of the Rhine during July and August, in that gorgeous setting, is an unforgettable experience.

The property is absolutely beautiful. the staff is one of the most hospitable I've ever came across.
it is clean, quiet and designed to instill peace and true relaxation. the view is fabulous, and the little village is charming. if you need to get away from the world for a bit, that's the place. the hotel restaurant is so good, breakfast and dinner was worth every franc. chefs and waiters were so nice and professional. the hotel also have a pool nearby, located in the middle of green fields, its magical and very private. i will defiantly return asap.
