The staff were great and worked with us in French, although they can speak English, rather than leaping into English at the first sign of us stumbling, which was fun.

Breakfast was good. Typical Swiss breakfast with nice bread, nice cheese, nice ham and nice pastries and good coffee - but it was not included, they charged extra for it. You could have gone to the bakery down the street and paid a bit less. There was a nice view of the lake from the little balcony. We had a nice afternoon aperitif there with some wine and snacks from the grocery store across the street when we arrived after our hike. Lac Champex itself is lovely and quiet. The room comfortably accommodated the 3 of us.
