The establishment is run with impressive efficiency, thoughtfulness and professional expertise by a formidably energetic manageress. The rooms are impeccably "done" every day by the hotel's maids, who obviously take pride in their work. An excellent breakfast is provided. Finally, the hotel's superb position in the heart of old Eglisau, directly overlooking the Rhine, gives its guests immediate access to the lovely, grassy beach along the river, which is a haven of serenity. Swimming safely in the surprisingly warm water of the Rhine during July and August, in that gorgeous setting, is an unforgettable experience.

There is a train trail right next to the hotel but fortunately only few train passed at night time and we still could get good sleep (weekend). Maybe train passes more often weekdays, then you should ask the staff about train passing times if its important for you
