My reviews are all of a single kind: one night stop during a long motorcycle tour with my wife as passanger. For your all information, we have a ten years experience with short stops in hotels. We do not care a lot about breakfast but we care a lot about balcony, as I am a heavy smoker, and comfort: of the room, bed and shower.

The owner went beyond our expectations to help us as much as he could. He booked us a taxi for the morning to seven rila lakes and after our hike he personally picked us up from the mountain. He even gave us a ride from dupnitsa when we arrived. We communicated with google translate and we didn't have issue with it, it was fun. The room itself was simple and very clean. Overall it was an authentic experience and would definitely stay here again.

How everything looked and the location. The service was so bad it was actually super funny. We had never seen such bad service and had not laughed so hard for a long time. The employees took every criticism on the chin and there were a lot of criticisms.
It's a family run business and they were very polite, the young staff member spoke perfect English, food for dinner and breakfast was homemade and delicious, the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, shower had a curtain which was helpful in the Bulgarian style showers,it was all clean and the location is superb,2 minutes car ride from rila monastery and the landscape and surrounds are calm, green and beautiful
Unassuming and unpretentious little boutique establishment that is located next to the river a few km downstream from the Rila Monastery. Nice restaurant with huge portions and good breakfast. Functional and quite spacious rooms with big balconies.

It was family hotel and mechana with tasty, traditional food, music and beautiful view on mountains (river is audibile). Host was very open and helpful (e.g. she borrowed us map and guidebook, helped with finding bus stop, bus timetable, best way to Rilski Monastyr and paths around). Last day very quickly she made for us the best breakfast ever - at her expense! Even if rooms aren't as in 5-star hotel, I recommend this place very much!
A charming family hotel in a lovely area close to Rila monastery. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and the service top notch. The food in the restaurant is delicious. Highly recommended.
