Situated in the centre of Queens, LIC Plaza Hotel is located 4.1 km from St Patrick's Cathedral and 4.2 km from Rockefeller Center. This 3-star hotel offers room service and luggage storage space. This is a great place to stay if one wants to explore New York! While it's outside Manhattan, the location and connections can't be better! A safe area, just a block from the nearest subway station (plus two more a little further) to reach anywhere you need in the city. Just to illustrate, less than 20' to MoMA or Times Square or 30' to my conference venue near 103rd Street. There's plenty of local commerce, delis and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. The room was very quiet (upon a light sleeper's special request!), but generally the hotel is in a calm street and it meant a lot for a good rest before full-day activities in the city. All the staff was kind and helpful and we loved the pleasant and clean scent in the room on arrival. The daily maintenance was perfect. There were amenities like the fridge, microwave, coffee machine and ironing board in the room. Awesome! I loved the large bathroom, with plenty of space for all the toiletries. The buffet breakfast was fine, with a diversity of choices. It's a fantastic location and overall value for money in such an expensive city, and while we didn't ne3d to use that option, one could check out until 5 PM for a small fee. Though there were so many positives, there are still a few things that l hope the hotel can improve in the future. Small changes could be made to become more eco-friendly, like eliminating the plastic cutlery or letting the guest choose whether they wish to have the towels changed daily (which is quite an established practice in European hotels). There were three of us sharing the room, but only one chair, and that's pretty easy to fix. The entrance and the lobby could be improved to match the quality and the appearance of the rooms.

Ideally situated in the middle of Queens, Hyatt Place Long Island City offers free WiFi and a fitness centre. The breakfast was great and filling. The room was clean, and we were upgraded, which was perfect. There was plenty of room in these rooms, which was surprising for New York City. Very close to the train station.

Feather Factory Hotel offers accommodation in Long Island City. All rooms are fitted with a TV with cable channels. All rooms include a private bathroom fitted with a bath or shower. Clean room, huge and comfortable bed. The breakfast costs 11$ at the reception desk. There was several options, eggs could be cooked different styles, bagels, fruit plate, yogurt, cereals, unfortunately there wasn’t vegetables. Tea and coffee was unlimited on breakfast and near the reception desk. Overall I really liked the hotel and I will definitely recommend to stay there. The commute to Manhattan was about 20min, which is great!

Featuring free WiFi and a fitness centre, Home2 Suites Long Island City/Manhattan View offers pet-friendly accommodation in Queens, only a 2-minute' walk from the subway station. Excellent location. Just a couple of stations away from Manhattan by the "E" express-line. Also, Train R and Train 7 stop at the elevated station. On the other i.e. the Queens side, Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue, a mighty busy area that truly is a melting pot. Our room # 910 was like a studio apartment. The kitchen was well-equipped, self-contained, complete, with a substantial fridge and a microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, even a dishwasher, dishwashing fluid and a scrubber, etc. A fair deal of storage space, good lighting, a multitude of TV channels to watch in your free time. Decent continental morning breakfast is provided, but just one suggestion: PLEASE have some option for vegetarians, such as a grilled cheese veg-sandwich, etc. Some top floors still command a substantial Manhattan view, esp. the Empire State and others in midtown Manhattan. Great Gym, lounge areas. The Hotel tariff is on the higher end if one is on a shoe-string budget, but it is worth it for a couple or a small family. The rooms are ultra-clean, spick and span. Housekeeping is done meticulously and regularly, and the Front Desk is 24/7 functional. I must mention Enzo, Chris and others who were so courteous, cordial, modest... they treat you with respect and make you feel that you are an important 'guest' to their Hotel. They also provide you pointers for travel to the nearby places and also into Manhattan. The neighborhood is a sprawling one, with a mini-Manhattan look, with its high-rise buildings. This place is almost at the Queens-end of the Ed Koch "Queensboro" Bridge, and in good weather, one can WALK over to Manhattan--- 1st Avenue (I have done it several times, during Spring). This is so cool ! Pizzeria, Indian "Raj's Kitchen" Restaurant (esp. take-away 'to go' foodstuff), Olive Organic Market, Salad-bar [especially for vegetarians like me!], are all so close, and so are the public laundromats.

Located 6.8 km from LaGuardia Airport, this Vista LIC Hotel, Premier Collection by Best Western features an on-site restaurant and rooftop bar. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. It was a nice room and the staff were exceptional

Ideally set in the centre of Queens, SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York Queens is within 5 km of St Patrick's Cathedral and 5.2 km of Rockefeller Center. The beds where amazing! Wow, wow, wow! I've never slept on such good beds before, not even my own bed! Also, it was all very new and nice. The room was of a nice size and i didn't really have anything to complain actually.

Set in the centre of Long Island City, 4.7 km from St Patrick's Cathedral, Sonder The Dutch offers air-conditioned rooms and free WiFi. Perfect location, under 5 mins radius walking distance to serval restaurants, Deli, laundromat, railway station. Rooms very clean & bed super comfy, staff very polite & helpful, with several patio's to Chillax with views. Definite recommendation.

Value for money location, safe area, super friendly staff, great place to stay for a trip to Manhattan
