We were fortunate enough to snag a last-minute booking, and from the moment we arrived, we were completely blown away. The service was nothing short of impeccable, and the apartment itself was beyond perfect—spacious, modern, and equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need. The air conditioning in the bedroom was a dream, and having a washing machine on hand was a bonus. Plus, the room service from the restaurant below made everything even more convenient. The location was unbeatable—right in the heart of the city with free parking in the basement. But the real showstopper was the rooftop! With a stunning cocktail bar and an incredible rooftop pool offering panoramic views of the city and the ocean, it was pure magic. The Friday night jazz entertainment, paired with expertly crafted drinks, made the experience even more special. The staff’s attention to detail and friendly service made our stay unforgettable. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more highly—it’s an absolute must-stay!

Friendliness of staff, quality of food, beautiful surroundings and building, availability of parking, peace and quiet of an evening.

Hotel Porto Santa Maria is a very well-thought-out and comfortable adult only hotel. The location is perfect in Funchal - at the beach, next to the Monte Funicular, adjacent to the old town, near many restaurants, within walking distance to the new part of town. The rooms are spacious and have kitchenette facilities. There was music entertainment every night. Breakfast was plentiful. Above all, the staff were amazing. We highly recommend staying at Porto Santa Maria. One more plus: there is a parking garage if you have a rental car - no extra charge.

Offering a terrace and city view, Alexia Room is set in Funchal, 1.7 km from Marina do Funchal and 15 km from Girao Cape. Alexandra is a great host, super friendly, and helpful. She personally welcomed us, even though we arrived very late. The room was super comfortable, and the breakfast was great, fruit, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt and some sweets 😋. She also have some fruit and welcome snacks ready for us.

Situated in Funchal and only 500 metres from Almirante Reis Beach, Apartments Madeira Barreirinha features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything is just perfect here! Best location near old town and this view all over Funchal from the rooftop - with Infinity Pool! Everything you need is in the apartment, really new. Staff is so nice ans the contact also before our arrival was perfect. We came one day later than expected due to strong wind and still everything was perfect. They even offered us to stay one more night die free as we lost the first night. Would never expect this but it was a great surprise. Thank you for everything!!

In the Santa Maria district of Funchal, close to Almirante Reis Beach, Agnelo Comfort - Accommodation H V has free WiFi and a washing machine. This guest house features accommodation with a balcony. We had an amazing stay at this comfortable apartment! Central location to the market across the street and grocery stores and bus and the waterfront promenade. It felt like we were locals going to the grocery store and taking the bus, not like tourists! The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need! We loved it! Jose was a wonderful host and he was in touch with us from the moment we landed at the airport and any time we had a question he was quick to answer all of our questions! We didn't have a problem with noise from the market early morning but we always travel with a white noise machine so we didn't hear anything. We found the bed super comfortable. We were there for almost 2 weeks and cannot wait to go back to Madeira and hope that Jose's apartment is available when we do!! Thank you so much Jose!!

Attractively located in the Santa Maria district of Funchal, Apartments Madeira City Center is situated 600 metres from Almirante Reis Beach, 1.4 km from Marina do Funchal and 14 km from Girao Cape. The apartment was very central and well equipped. A charming host who arranged a taxi from the airport and was so waiting to greet us. Furthermore, he phoned me the day after we had left to say I had left a couple of personal items to arrange their return. I would recommend this apartment as everything was excellent.
