Nicely decorated boutique hotel, with clean spacious rooms, comfortable beds, exceptional staff, excelent breakfast in the garden with the view over the city, possibility to park in the hotel garage, walking distance to city center, with bus stop right in front of the hotel when one does not want to be bothered walking uphill. We had an amazing stay.

Hotel Porto Santa Maria is a very well-thought-out and comfortable adult only hotel. The location is perfect in Funchal - at the beach, next to the Monte Funicular, adjacent to the old town, near many restaurants, within walking distance to the new part of town. The rooms are spacious and have kitchenette facilities. There was music entertainment every night. Breakfast was plentiful. Above all, the staff were amazing. We highly recommend staying at Porto Santa Maria. One more plus: there is a parking garage if you have a rental car - no extra charge.

Offering a terrace and city view, Alexia Room is set in Funchal, 1.7 km from Marina do Funchal and 15 km from Girao Cape. I stayed at this accomdation and I really liked it. The owner was absolutely lovely and I immediately felt welcomed. She offered suggestions for places to eat in the local area. The room is exactly like the pictures. Comfortable bed and great little ensuite. The location is great - literally 5 mins from the old town area which is lovely to explore. The breakfast the next morning was just lovely and relaxing. Nice view looking over the rooftops towards the sea.

The apartment was very clean and had a great view of the ocean. The building had spacious parking, which, for those who rent cars, is crucial, as there was no need to look for a parking spot in the evenings. We were met by a very nice host personally, who gave us a few pieces of advice on which restaurants to visit Everything was perfect.

Dona I Apartments at Botanical Garden features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Funchal, 1.9 km from Almirante Reis Beach. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly before and during the trip. It all felt very genuine and comfortable.

In the Santa Maria district of Funchal, close to Almirante Reis Beach, Agnelo Comfort - Accommodation H V has free WiFi and a washing machine. This guest house features accommodation with a balcony. We had an amazing stay at this comfortable apartment! Central location to the market across the street and grocery stores and bus and the waterfront promenade. It felt like we were locals going to the grocery store and taking the bus, not like tourists! The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need! We loved it! Jose was a wonderful host and he was in touch with us from the moment we landed at the airport and any time we had a question he was quick to answer all of our questions! We didn't have a problem with noise from the market early morning but we always travel with a white noise machine so we didn't hear anything. We found the bed super comfortable. We were there for almost 2 weeks and cannot wait to go back to Madeira and hope that Jose's apartment is available when we do!! Thank you so much Jose!!

Attractively located in the Santa Maria district of Funchal, Apartments Madeira City Center is situated 600 metres from Almirante Reis Beach, 1.4 km from Marina do Funchal and 14 km from Girao Cape. The apartment was very central and well equipped. A charming host who arranged a taxi from the airport and was so waiting to greet us. Furthermore, he phoned me the day after we had left to say I had left a couple of personal items to arrange their return. I would recommend this apartment as everything was excellent.
