The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally located a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. A nice and spacious room with a great view from the balcony! Massive breakfast too! Loved my stay here and would recommend to others! The staff were also friendly and accommodating!

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 1.6 mi from the city center. The best hotel I have ever been to. Big room, very confortable bed, awesome bathroom, big balcony. The breakfast was amazing, very diverse and very tasty. Access to spa, swimming pool, live shows every evenings. Last day I felt sick and they let us do a late checkout up till 15:30 instead of 12, very kind of them.

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. Very beautiful well maintained property. Rooms, facilities and grounds were all well maintained. Staff were always helpful.

Located atop a natural peninsula, The Cliff Bay provides panoramic Atlantic Ocean views and private sea access. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a 2-Michelin star restaurant and free... The location is fantastic, the room was very clean and well maintained, the staff was dedicated, friendly and efficient. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds that have slept in so far. Exceptional hospitality and very delicious food. Will gladly return!

Featuring a bar, Vila Vicência is located in Funchal in the Madeira region, a 7-minute walk from Gorgulho - Gavinas Beach and 1.8 miles from Formosa Beach. Great location and staff, they are super friendly! If we come back to Funchal, we definitely are staying there again!

Excellent welcome from Tiago on arrival. Lovely room and view. Fantastic breakfast variety and quality. The access to the sea was great.

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city center and features contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. That was my first stay at Madeira - and it was the perfect beginning of the vacation! We’ve been upgraded from a seaview room to something - i don’t know - similar to penthouse seaview, featuring huge window and terrace with ocean and pool view. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, room is clean, new and comfortable. There’s a comfortable parking garage, make sure you’ll pay for it at the reception, it will be cheaper (8 euro/day)

Located close to Funchal’s city center, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Every late afternoon we received two pieces of chocolate. Location of the hotel is good. We parked in the garage of the hotel and it was free of charge. The gym is well equipped. Indoor pool is quite big.
