Surrounded by sacred mountains and untouched nature, Tamonkan is housed in a historic Japanese-style building. Complimentary tea and snacks are served to welcome guests. Was indeed Home n Away. Spotless clean and tidy Ryokan. The host certainly very committed and ensure their guest is comfortable and feeling at home. Car park is just in front. Was an incident that i left my eletric toothbrush at the toilet and the host took the initiative to send all the way back to us. (Was about 1km away) Appreciated on their commitment. Thanks 🙏

A 350 year old temple inn, Shukubo Daishinbo offers Japanese-style accommodation, a large public bath and free Wi-Fi. Featuring a garden and free parking, the property lies surrounded by nature. The vegetarian food was exceptional, creatively prepared, delicious and delightful. The staff was courteous, the room was spacious, the temple grounds was serene and natural, and the overall atmosphere refreshing and unexpectedly amiable, especially the monk. He added our names into his prayers !

Situated among spiritual mountains with a rich history, Hagurokan offers traditional Japanese-style guest rooms in a historic building. We had a lovely stay at Hagurokan. Excellent Japanese hospitality- we felt very welcomed and cared for. The ryokan itself is beautiful, and the traditional meals were so good. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Set 24 km from Kamo Aquarium, 大聖坊 Daishobo offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The air-conditioned accommodation is 46 km from Shinjo Station. Guests can make use of a... I felt like family and yet had all the privacy I required. The Master was gracious to include me in the morning prayers. This stay was the best possible addition to my time on Mt Haguro and learning lore about the spirituality of the Yamabushi and the DewaSanzan. The food was incredible, so healthy and much was grown locally. It was the best place I stayed in my two weeks in Japan.

Only a 5-minute walk from the Pagoda at Mount Haguro, Shukubo Kanbayashi Katsukane offers Japanese-style rooms, vegetarian Japanese meals and free Wi-Fi. The staff was very kind and the place was nice and traditional. It was exactly what I hoped to see. The food was tasty with large quantities. Thank you very much!!!!
