He was - understandably so - a bit grumpy on our late / late night arrival, but wrote the most beautiful letter next day to express his feelings. 2 private Onsen pools, one in- and one out-doors. Superb and a high potential to get addicted. Every appartment has its own individual art. Just lovely! It is a truely unique place to which we would return every single time, even when only remotely around.

Traveler's Inn Asanebo offers simple but homely Japanese-style accommodation a 7-minute walk from Kawayu Onsen Train Station. Aki and Taka are lovely people. I had great times with them, enjoying delicious home-cooked food. As well as making culinary discoveries, I enjoyed learning more about Hokkaido and Japan in general from them. Their house, located in a beautiful and peaceful setting, near JR station, is very beautiful and cosy. I loved sleeping in the Japanese-style bedroom. The Akan region is magnificent... I'd love to come back soon!

A 3-minute walk from Kawayu JR Train Station, Hotel Parkway features a hot spring baths, karaoke. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby, and a launderette is on-site. Wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful area. Akan Mashu National Park is fabulous. Facility older, futon beds, inside and outside onsen and the most delicious food. Staff very attentive and eager to please. Our favourite place of 6 in Japan.
