Located in a beautiful town with lots of shops and a nice walking trail along the river. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a traditional onsen ryokan experience.

Kaga Modern Onsen Ryokan, located along the Kakusenkei Gorge which is the most beautiful valley in the Hokuriku region. Nicely presented delicious breakfast. Salads are good and the food portion is sufficient. The staffs are fantastic, courteous and efficient.

Boasting a hot spring bath, Yamanaka Onsen Kissho Yamanaka is 25 minutes by shuttle bus from JR Kagaonsen Station. Private hot spring baths are available for free. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Great location to explore during the day. Very clean. Delicious meals. Fantastic experience, the pictures don't do it justice.

Quiet place which I like,it is a short walk away from the onsen and close to facilities and a river walk..there's also a bus from the onsen which will take you to yamashiro onsen.some nice little bars and eating places down the quiet streets,but best asking locals where they are.
