A Capital of Design and Style

Renowned as the world’s fashion and design capital, Milan is never short on places to see and things to experience. The stunning architecture of the Duomo di Milano and the famous La Scala theatre are just a few of the city’s breath-taking attractions. For a more intimate adventure, the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with Leonardo da Vinci's “Last Supper” lets you view a masterpiece from Italy’s past.

Visit the FieraMilano and Salone del Mobile, among the world’s largest and most prestigious furniture and design fairs or have a stroll in the Quadrilatero Della Moda district to admire unique creations from the most famous Italian fashion brands: Gucci, Versace, Armani, Prada or Dolce & Gabbana.

The Navigli and Porta Romana districts are famed for restaurants and bars serving delicious Lombard cuisine and the very popular aperitivo. Make sure you try sweet delicacies at the chic Caffé Cova, founded in 1817, or another historical café, Zucca, in the Galleria.

Fast-paced compared to the rest of Italy.

Fast-paced compared to the rest of Italy. But Piazza Duomo, the Duomo and its Cathedral rooftop make it worth the visit. The famous castle, and its park, is also must-see. The size of the Galleria (while not "speaking to us" like the aforementioned spots) was something to see at least once. Metro makes getting around super easy. Be selective in picking eateries; lots of "tourist trap" places.

Fantastic city with a little of everything to please all tastes: - Concert venues, - Museums, - Sports (San Siro Stadium) - So easy to go around by underground, tram, bus and around the center everything is on walking distance. - Perfect for day trips: Lake Como, Switzerland by the Bernina Train, Verona, even Venice. - Plenty of green areas. Lots of amazing restaurants with the most delicious food. And don't forget the apperitivo hours!

Milan is less touristy than Rome, but still has its attractions. I took a 2-hour of the Duomo, and highly recommend it. It's an amazing building. The Castle is also pretty cool, although I didn't go inside on this visit. There's a ton of dining & shopping to be had in central Milan, as well as Chinatown (where I stayed), and along the canal. It's very walkable, but transit is also ridiculously easy—just tap a credit card or your smartphone on any ride and you are good to go. After a certain number of rides, you just get charged the day pass fare for them all. No need to buy tickets ahead of time or anything.

Absolutely loved visiting the Duomo and Duomo museum. It's incredible. We did lots of walking around Milan and enjoyed the historic vibe of the city. Also went to the Armani museum which was really interesting. Had dinner and aperitivo at the Navigli canal district which was lovely on a hot summer's night.

Milan is a great city to visit.

Milan is a great city to visit. Intresting, clean and friendly. The Duomo is a must and there are often activities taking place outside that go into the early hours of the morning - possibly becaause it is cooler at night. There are plent of other attractions. I particularly liked the Navigli canal area at night. Public transport is cheap and easy to use. I particularly found the Metro a quick way to get around but friends remind you to be aware of 'pick pockets'. My only advice would be to becareful using the open top sight seeing buses. Last year I bought a ticket for the 'hop-on hop-off' tour bus but it stops running at 7:00pm so if you get off to visit something you get minimal time actually on the bus. This weekend (Friday) I purchased a single route tour and got on the 'Yellow' route which was interesting and worth the money. The next day (Saturday) I purchased a single route ticket and got on the 'Blue' route which took exactly the same route as the previous day so this proved to be a complete waste of money.

Interesting city to visit however spoilt by the Milanese people who were often rude when serving in restaurants or ignoring you completely full focus to rip off tourists by getting every last euro from you. EG heavy service charges plus hovering over you until you tipped them on top of this. Menus were displaying difference prices for tourists & at one restaurant menus removed from tables or view as number of customers querying their bills. Tourist information centre at Duomo very poor customer service from an abrupt lady as well as being closed most of Saturday "busiest time" On a positive the duomo & rooftop certai ly worth queuing for an hour and half. In duomo square magazine vendor shop very very friendly & helpful

The hotel has a modern feel to it and the room, though on the smaller side, was cozy, very clean and well-equipped. The staff throughout the stay were fantastic - friendly, helpful and professional. The location is decent as the hotel is close to both the city centre and the Garibaldi train station (15min walk to both), but it's not right in the middle of town. The gym area was great. In sum, it's a very good hotel and I'd recommend it to anyone stopping in Milan.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Milano, but near the subway station (and not that far from city centre if you don't mind the walk). The equipment is older, but the price outweights it. The location was very quiet.
