Hotel Palazzo Alexander is a historic building in the centre of Lucca, with easy access from Porta San Donato. Rooms come with free Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and the staff is multilingual. What’s not to like about an elegant small hotel such as this in the heart of Lucca. On check in we got a great briefing of what to do in town and took the manager’s advice and attended the Puccini and Verde opera in a 1600 era cathedral. A high point. We also walked along the medieval walls of the town. The hotel was great. Breakfast was yummy, with pancakes and eggs and all of the continental goodies. We did book one room for each of us. Two tall people in these small European rooms wears thin on long trips (snoring included). So that made this stay pricey for us.

This warm and friendly hotel is within the ancient walls of Lucca, a 10-minute walk from the cathedral. Highlights at Hotel Alla Corte degli Angeli include free Wi-Fi and elegantly decorated rooms. It is located at the very center of Lucca. Although it is a small town, you can get quite close to central regions for foods and shopping, and the central plaza. The wall around the city is close. Room is clean, spacious and traditional. Staffs are so kind and helpful. Most importantly, the breakfast is fresh, authentic, and delicious. The hotel made my stay in Lucca perfect.

Set in Lucca's historic centre, 650 metres from Piazza Anfiteatro, Palazzo Dipinto offers spacious rooms with free WiFi. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The hotel is great. The location is perfect, the room was clean and with a very nice view, and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel also has its own garage, which is very practical and indeed often essential in Lucca when arriving by car. We also loved the breakfast and the food in general, which had many healthy and organic choices.

Hotel Diana is in the heart of Lucca's historic centre, right around the corner from the Duomo di San Martino Cathedral. It offers colourful, air-conditioned rooms and free Wi-Fi. Great location, quiet place, small and cozy hotel, the room is clean and tidy. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed only for one night with a proper breakfast, but since we had to leave early, the staff organized breakfast for us in the evening with fruits, juices and sweet pastries, for which special thanks to them)
