A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernising at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and offers fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.
This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.
With a choice of shopping centres and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.
Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.
Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.
Shanghai is a beautiful, peaceful and comfortable city.
Shanghai is a beautiful, peaceful and comfortable city. There are many historical buildings and streetscapes, and it has a special beauty. The people are kind, gentle and heartwarming. I really fell in love with this city. Shanghai Museum East Building, Zhujiajiao, Qibao, Yuyuan Garden, The Bund, Jing'an Temple, Tianzifang at night... it's full of beauty, delicious food and smiles. The performance of the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe was amazing! It's a special place that I want to visit again and again.

Shanghai Pudong is exceptionally well maintained, clean and modern. The people and service staff are all very friendly. The only downside was the weather - it was very hot and humid. We spent most of the time indoors, a overhead pedestrian links all the way from the aquarium to IFC to Shanghai Tower.

The sightseeing and eateries were great, transportation is so convenient as both the Underground subway and buses bring you to the door step of your sightseeing and eateries location. The use of Alipay and Wechat were so convenient as i do not need to fumble with my chinese yuan. Just scan and go. The only slow down is the security checks required at every undergound station subway entrance. Hence it's advise to travel light (without backpack) else you need to put your backpack in for scanning. The weather was a little on the high side (around 33 to 42 degree) hence it's better to equip yourself with sufficient sun lotion and sun shade. The following are the recommended sightseeing : Zhujiajiao Water Town, The bund, Yu Garden, Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing road shopping district, XianTiandi, Shanghai Museum (need to book in advance), Shanghai Acrobatic Show.

The cost of taxis, and especially didi which we used frequently from the Alipay app, were so inexpensive that it was easier than taking the metro. We both loved Shanghai . The fabric market was fantastic and although we had nothing made to measure, what we bought was beautiful- cashmere coats and several dresses which were ‘different’ and lovely. We also loved the Sinan mansions - beautiful architecture and restaurants. The best meal we had was at the Chinese restaurant at the Langham hotel on the 5th floor. Amazing food.
We cannot wait to return.

Shanghai is a vibrant city with many options of good restaurants and parties. Nevertheless, get your pocket ready if you're going there. It's probably the most expensive city in China only followed by Beijing. Fat Cow is an amazing option for a good burger. Boteco is a greap option for Brazilian food. Getting around Shanghai is very easy with lots of subway lines and taxis.
Modern hotel with location facing Shanghai Century in Pudong, you exit hotel and walk directly into the Park.
Direct metro station access to the hotel, which let you jump on the metro to catch Maglev to Pudong airport (PVG)
Glad to see that hotel follow "green policy", nice!
Very helpful personnel, thanks Ms Amanda to help with my luggage!
Good breakfast, starting at 7:00 which allowed me to get it even on the departure day.
Flawless wi-fi
Clean and well maintained. Exceptional breakfast buffet - ensure that it is included in your room rate. Perfect location if you have to do day trips in the greater Shanghai area - from the hotel you can directly walk into the train station Hongqiao. And also the airport is around the corner. Despite Airport and Train Station it was absolutely silent in the room. For dinner you will find also several restaurants in the neighbourhood.
The location is prefect for seeing Shanghai (including the Jing'an Temple which can be seen from your hotel room) with an underground station literally around the corner with two lines to choose from. Only a short walk away from the French Concession area, full of great bars & restaurants.
The best part of this hotel was the very on time bus service which is in fact very important for the people new to Shanghai airport. It was also close to the airport. In fact the facilities were not as I was expecting based on the reviews. The value vas really good for the stay.
Great location! short walking distance to Old Town Shanghai and also to Nanjing Road and Bund. Also easy to reach when travelling by subway from the airport. Due to its convenient location we booked the same hotel again on our way back from China.
