The Elsewhere hotel was a little gem: it felt like were were staying at one of the ancient buildings we saw around town, while still having the comfort of a modern hotel room. I would recommend accepting the pick up service offered from the train station, since it's quite far from the hotel: we were greeted by Alice, who spoke excellent English and who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even booking the tickets for the city's attractions with her own phone and account when mine didn't want to cooperate. We went to Ping Yao to experience ancient China, and came away with the experience of a lifetime.

Boasting well preserved architectural structure and attention-to-detail service, Jing's Residence is a hidden gem in the ancient walled town of Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just exceptional! Can not be better. Best modern with traditional chinese ambiance, 👏🏻👍🏻 bravo to architect Antonio Ochoa. The best memories of a stay like being home. Service friendliness is rewarding. 10/10.

This hostel mesmerized us with its well-preserved historical courtyard, making us feel as if we were living in a museum, steeped in charm and history. We had the pleasure of staying in both the room in the main courtyard and the Yaodong room. Each room was spacious, featuring super large, comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep. The cleanliness and service at the hostel were impeccable. Every area was maintained spotlessly. The staff were warm and always eager to assist, making us feel truly welcomed. I highly recommend this hostel, particularly in the winter. Its perfect blend of historical elegance, modern comfort, and the added beauty of snow make it an unparalleled choice. Looking forward to my next visit!

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Water Hotel, Pingyao offers accommodation in Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hostel is pretty clean and the location is amazing, and to me, it is even the best location. Within the old town. It is on the “the South Street”, the main walking street of the Old town, easy to get to everywhere. It is several steps to the South Gate, so can get a transport car easily. The host is quite friendly, give a lot of travel tips and can also help to arrange tour guide service. They also offer pick up and drop off service to railway station. Room is large and clean, breakfast also good. I would highly recommend this hostel.

Beautiful accommodation at the centre of ancient city of Pingyao in the bustling South Street. The owner and staff are very friendly, warm and helpful. They picked us up from the station and brought us to Ancient City (cars are not allowed inside) and also brought us on the day of departure, both for very reasonable fees, because we were with 5, too many for a taxi. The hotel and rooms were in a traditional style, allowing for great pictures.The beds and cushions were very comfortable for us. The bathroom and toilet are combined in a small room, but it wasn't bothersome.The owner knows the nearby shops and good spots to go to, definitely ask for tips. We enjoyed our 2 nights and 3 days in Pingyao a lot, definitely recommended.
