Set in Locarno and within 600 metres of Piazza Grande Locarno, Binario 934 Boutique Hotel has a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. Absolutely gorgeous design. Top quality in every way. Superb hospitality from Carina. Excellent location. Steps away from the train station, but completely free from any noise at all. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. The hotel staff were welcoming, considerate and attentive. They are knowledgeable in regards to the area and the relevant leisure activities including walks/hikes. The entire premises was clean – the actual hotel room stayed in was cleaned very well, daily. Although I’m no art expert, it’s worth stating the hotel had a tasteful theme, (I believe 1950’s art deco), that was applied very well. The breakfast was exceptional – a proper continental spread which included home-made jams. In regards to the foods I consumed (bakery, cereal and coffee), these were all very good quality.

Set in a turn-of-the-century villa, Hotel Alexandra is just a 10-minute walk from Locarno’s town centre. It offers Mediterranean cuisine. Alexandra Hotel offers a rich buffet breakfast daily. Amazing staff and very good value for money. Close to city center, quiet area, decent parking and very good price.

@ Home Hotel Locarno offers a central location in Locarno, 5 minutes' walk from Lake Maggiore, the Piazza Grande, and the Muralto Locarno train station. Nice, family-style hotel in walking distance of the city center. Spacious, cosy room. Large breakfast buffet.

Hotel la Palma au Lac is situated on the beautiful lake promenade of Locarno, a few steps from the city centre. All rooms provide a TV, a safe and a private bathroom. The hotel was an easy walk from the station- when you walk down the short hill to the lake side it’s worth crossing the road and walking along the lake. The gardens are gorgeous. The staff on reception, Gian and a lovely young woman whose name I didn’t get, were superb - welcoming & knowledgeable about Locarno. I was early, and Gian phoned me when my room was ready. The views were superb - it’s worth paying for a lakeside balcony room, although a tad exie. The breakfast was generous with a wide selection, even for vegetarians - a bonus was the outdoor terrace. The steam room and sauna were very well appointed. The jacuzzis had a wonderful aspect with views over the lake, although I found them overly chlorinated - certainly not a negative, but personal preference. It was a short walk to the ferries. Make sure you ask for the Ticino visitors pass - free buses & trains within the Canton & some limited ferry services and good discounts on the the funicular to the Madonna del Sasso sanctuary (you can walk up and/or down - many steep stairs - I walked down) and the adjoining cable car/chair lift to Alpe Cardada/Cimetta, both of which I recommend. Fabulous view to Monte Rosa and some good hiking. Lake swimming is accessible almost right in front of the hotel - the water clarity is wonderful and many species of water birds. The old town around the Piazza Grande was a treat as well, although it was very hot and they were setting up for a music festival.

Completely renovated in 2012 and 2013, Hotel Rio Muralto occupies a 19th-century villa in a central location opposite the Locarno Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Piazza Grande, and offers you... Very kind staff, hotel is beautiful and very near the train station!

Located in Muralto, Miralago Locarno Easy Rooms is just 50 metres from the promenade on Lake Maggiore, 500 metres from Locarno's centre and 200 metres from the harbour. It offers free Wi-Fi. Location is the best compare with the price, very fair price the room is cleaned properly.
